Andrea Cali

Andrea Cali is a Research Fellow at the Oxford-Man Institute and at the Computing Laboratory, University of Oxford. He holds a PhD in Computing Engineering and an MSc ("Laurea") in Electrical Engineering, both from the University of Rome "La Sapienza". Before joining the Oxford-Man Institute, he was assistant Professor in Computer Science at the free Unviersity of Bolanzo.

His Research interests include database theory, knowledge representation, information integration, logics and its applications to databases, reasoning on ontologies, web and mobile information systems, hidden web querying systems, and mobile systems for social networking. One of his main current lines of research is into applications of ontology querying and web data extraction, to build and compare different financial indices based on information extracted from the web.
