Arno Blaas

DPhil Student, Engineering, Machine Learning Research Group

Arno’s main research interests lie in improved uncertainty quantifications and robustness evaluations for different machine learning methods. As such, his most recent work is on deriving formal guarantees for Gaussian Process classification models, which allow to calculate lower and upper bounds for the class probabilities assigned over compact sets of points by such models. He is supervised by Prof. Stephen Roberts and Prof. Michael Osborne.

Arno holds an MSc in Mathematical and Computational Finance with Distinction from the University of Oxford and a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Konstanz (Germany). Prior to joining the robots group, he worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Company.
